Carlos Amado Molina

Carlos Amado Molina ( born May 25, 1983 in Pátzcuaro ) is a Mexican professional boxer and current world champion of the IBF light middleweight.

Boxing career

Molina played only seven amateur fights and had his first professional fight in October 2003 in Wisconsin. After eight wins and one defeat against construction opponent, he boxed on 16 December 2005 in Mexico against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., which led to a draw. In the rematch two months later, Molina but lost nearly 2:1 vote on points. In his next fight he also defeated on points against Wayland Willingham and Mike Alvarado.

However, he remained in his next twelve fights undefeated, where he was able to prevail against, among others Danny Perez and Kermit Cintron. Counter Erislandy Lara, he achieved a draw in March 2011. Against James Kirkland he was disqualified in March 2012, as one of Molina's caregivers too early entered the ring. Although the round was officially over, but Molina was still down for the count due to a precipitate.

With subsequent point victories against Damian Frias and Cory Spinks, he qualified for an IBF world title fight in the light middleweight against Ishe Smith, the Molina won on points on 14 September 2013.
