Carlos Ferrero

Carlos Ferrero Costa ( born February 7, 1941 in Lima) was Prime Minister and President of the Congress of Peru.

His predecessor as prime minister was Beatriz Merino, who resigned on 15 December 2003 at the request of President Alejandro Toledo. Before he became Prime Minister, he was from 2001 to 2003 President of the Congress of Peru.

He worked for former President Alberto Fujimori and was elected to the party several times. After falling out of favor, he joined the opposition party and ran after the resignation of Fujimori as opposition candidate to Valentín Paniagua for the presidency of the Congress.

His brother is an ambassador and was foreign minister during the Fujimori government.
