Carlos Johnson (footballer)

Carlos Carpio Johnson (born 10 July 1984 Cartago ) is a Costa Rican football player at the position of a defender. He currently plays for the New York Red Bulls in the top division in the North American Soccer, Major League Soccer (MLS ).

Career

Club career

Johnson began his active career as a football player in the youth teams of CS Cartaginés. In 2004 he moved to the highest Costa Rican league for CS Herediano. The Rojiamarillos, thus the nickname of the club, he came to a total of 91 professional applications with a record of four goals to his departure in 2008. In 2008, he transferred to Norway for Bryne FK. In the second class Adecco Ligaen Johnson completed 17 championship matches and came up with a hit.

In March 2009 he transferred to the United States, on, playing in Major League Soccer, New York Red Bulls. His debut in the MLS he was on 5 April 2009 in the match against the Chicago Fire SC, when he came on in the 62nd minute for Jeremy Hall.

Internationally

Johnson could already gain experience in the U- 17 team in his home country and others. He also took part in the U-17 World Cup 2001 in Trinidad and Tobago, where he was employed in all four games. His debut in the A- team of Costa Rica, he celebrated in 2006.
