Carlos Pintado

Carlos Pintado Hernández ( born 1974 in Pinar del Río ) is a Cuban- American poet, short story writer and journalist.

Life

In 1996 he received at the Pedagogical Institute of Pinar del Río a degree in English Language and Literature. In 1997 he moved to the U.S. and settled in Miami.

In 2006, Carlos received for his book Autorretrato en azul the Spanish Premio Internacional de Poesía Sant Jordi.

His poems, stories and texts have been translated into English, German, Turkish, Italian and French and are published in various anthologies and journals, including Ante elespejo (Madrid, 2008), Adiós (Madrid, 2006), Aldabonazo s Trocadero 162 ( Ed. Aduana Vieja, Madrid, 2008), Una voz en elabismo (Peru, 2007 Colección de poesía Editorial Ego group, Inc, Miami), Antologíade la cubana del poesía exilio ( AduanaVieja, Spain, 2011). In 2010, which was signed by South Beach Music Ensemble in several U.S. states " Quintetosobre los Poemas de Carlos Pintado ", a piano and string quintet, performed based on the poems of Carlos, which was implemented by the American composer Pamela Marshall. Carlos Pintados Rimas Tropicales were musically by Tania Leon.

Carlos Pintado also wrote the book " The exile experience: a journey to freedom " a project of the Cuban music producer Emilio Estefan. He worked with the Cuban musicians Gema and Pavel together and in 2009 there was a collaboration with actor and sculptor Michel Hernandez in the project " The Invention of the senses ", a fusion of poetry and sculptures which are now also in the catalog " Espacio Abierto ", a magazine about the Spanish culture in Miami are seen. He also worked on the project " Free Soul Dance Company " which was created by Belma Suazo and the international actor Francisco Gattorno. Pintado also collaborated with Vogue magazine and is editor of the journal La Zorra y El Cuervo.
