Carlos Ruiz Herrero

Carlos Ruiz Herrero ( born June 7, 1948 in Bilbao ) is a former Spanish footballer.

Career

Ruiz began his career with CD Getxo, a suburban club from Bilbao. From 1969 he ran for the reserve team of Athletic Bilbao. On September 12, 1970, he was part of a 1-1 draw against FC Barcelona his debut with the professionals in the Primera División.

In the course of the eleven years at the rojiblancos Ruiz completed a total of 275 duty games. In 1973 he won with his team in the Copa del Rey, in the season 1974/75 he won the title of the scorer. International Spaniard fell to his performances in the UEFA Cup 1976/77, when he scored five goals in eight games and threw with his team high-caliber as the AC Milan and FC Barcelona from the tournament before the finals one due to the away goals against Juventus defeated.

In 1981, Ruiz to Catalonia to Espanyol. Following the 1981/82 season, he finished his career.
