Carly Smithson

Carly Smithson ( born September 12, 1983 as Carly Sarah Hennessy ) is a soul, pop, rock and metal singer and songwriter from San Diego, California, who finished sixth in the seventh season of American Idol. Currently, she is the singer of the gothic metal band We Are the Fallen.

Published in 2001, Smithson her first studio album for MCA Records under the name "Ultimate High". After she met the former Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody, the plans for her first solo album after American Idol was dropped. Instead, Smithson was frontwoman of the then newly formed metal band We Are the Fallen, the Metal-/Alternative after the first studio album by the nu metal band Evanescence was named traps.
