Carmen București

Carmen Bucharest was a Romanian football club from Bucharest. He was in season 1946/47, Romanian runner before he was resolved to pressure the Romanian government.

History

Carmen Bucharest was founded in 1937 by the Romanian entrepreneurs Dumitru Mociorniţă as Mociorniţă Bucharest. Already in 1938 the name was changed to Mociorniţă - Coltea Bucharest, before it was amended in 1940 to Carmen Bucharest. In the first season after the Second World War, the season 1946/47, Carmen was achieved with the Romanian runner-up of the biggest success in club history.

However, already in the summer of 1947, Carmen was disbanded by the communist government of Romania. The official reason was the unfair treatment of a Soviet team when Carmen fought out a friendly match against Dinamo Tbilisi in winter 1946/47. The real reason lay rather in the fact that the Romanian Association a place in Divizia A for the newly established Sports Club of the Army, ASA Bucharest ( Bucharest Steaua later ) required.

The players spread out on the Bucharest clubs or joined the newly founded association Pielari / Flacara Roşie, who later played first in the Bucharest city league in Divizia C.
