Carola Weißenberg

Carola Fleischhauer, born Weissenberg ( born December 24, 1962 in Berlin- Hohenschonhausen ) is a former German figure skater.

Carola Weissenberg began in 1965 at SC Dynamo Berlin with the first steps in ice skating. Since 1974, since the age of eleven, White Mountain, which could jump a double Axel was already nine years old, in national and international competitions active. In the same year she first appeared on DDR - Senior Championships and won Spartakiade gold. 1978 to 1980 she was a participant in Europe and the Senior World Championships and achieved at that time its greatest sporting successes. She participated among others in international tournaments in England, Russia, Austria, and could occupy first places there. In 1980 she finished after the World Championships in Dortmund her active career in which she later Katarina Witt stood in the shadow of their more successful competitors and Anett Pötzsch. Then Carola Weissenberg began a study of a primary school teacher and educator. After graduating, she worked at several schools and other children's institutions and now heads for several years a kindergarten. Since 1987 she is married and now bears the family name Fleischhauer. In 1988, she became the mother of a son. The sports they remained faithful and now works as a supervisor at grassroots level.
