Carolyn Jeanne Bessette - Kennedy ( January 7, 1966 in White Plains, New York as Carolyn Jeanne Bessette, † 16 July 1999 in near Martha 's Vineyard, Massachusetts ) was the wife of U.S. lawyers and publisher John F. Kennedy jr.

Born as a daughter of William J. Bessette and Ann Messina in New York, she moved with 8 years after the divorce of their parents to Connecticut, where she and her two sisters, the nearly 18 months older twins Lauren and Lisa, with her mother and her stepfather Richard Freeman grew up.
