Carolyne Mas

Carolyne Mas ( born October 20, 1955 in New York) is an American jazz, rock and blues musician. It produces, composes, sings and plays guitar and piano.

She is the daughter of Livia and Joseph Mas. Her mother was Miss Puerto Rico and medical student, her father - at first singer of the New York City Opera Company - became known as the inventor of a battery charger. After numerous trips to clubs like New York's CBGB and pubs in Greenwich Village Carolyne Mas had in the 1980s, a hit with the live approximately, depending on the mood to play her band, 15 - to 20-minute title Sittin 'In The Dark.

In the U.S., the musician is rather unknown; it is popular in Canada and Europe. At Mas' musicians included, among others Ivan Elias ( bass), Bobby Chouinard (drums) and Charlie Giordano (keyboards).

In 1980, the live record Mas Hysteria; in a blank LP sleeve with glued amateur cover reminded her of a bootleg.

Carolyne Mas is stylistically to settle in the tradition of musicians Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders and Patti Smith. Its announced 2013 European tour was canceled due to illness partially.
