Carsten Kober

Carsten Kober ( born October 11, 1967 in Bad Schwartau ) is a former German football player.

Playing career

He was on the opening day of the 1987/88 season his debut against Hamburger SV. In the coming years, Carsten Kober was an important component of HSV- defense. He was known especially for his hard style of play that earned him numerous warnings. Until his last game for the Hamburger SV on 18 May 1996, he completed a total of 223 Bundesliga games in which he only managed one goal. In addition, he played 16 DFB Cup and 15 European games for HSV.

Carsten Kober joined the 1996/97 season for Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga 2. The capital club he made the promotion to the Bundesliga. Once, however, he injured his place could not say, parted ways after only one season. First, without a club, the third division VfL Osnabrück signed him free transfer in January 1998. By the end of the season he ran under coach Hans -Werner Moors in eleven games. After enduring hip problems with the player, the club his contract valid until 2001 broke up shortly after the start of the following season, while he complained to an employment tribunal and received compensation.

After playing career

After end of his career he went in 2000 as a manager for SC Norderstedt, but remained there only a year. He then moved to the marketing department of the handball club VfL Bad Schwartau.
