Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa

Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (田 川 洋行Japanese, Hiroyuki Tagawa; born September 27, 1950 in the prefecture of Tokyo, Japan) is an American film actor and film producer of Japanese descent.

Biography

Although born in Japan, Tagawa nevertheless grew up in various U.S. cities. Through his father, a member of the U.S. Army, the family had to move often. So Tagawa lived in Fort Bragg ( North Carolina), Fort Polk (California ) and Fort Hood (Texas ). Finally, the family lived in southern California, where Tagawa student at the University of Southern California was and went as an exchange student to Japan.

From 1986 stood Tagawa, which was seen as a teenager in the school theater, for numerous films and television series in front of the camera. He usually embodied Asian villains. Tagawa became known in 1995 for his role as Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat (1995). In 1999 he portrayed in the film Fight of the dragon, in which the Swedish action star Dolph Lundgren starred, the cruel General Ruechang. But also for his role as Commodore in 2001 produced Genda war epic Pearl Harbor, he is known to a wide audience.

However, his private life he is the opposite of his brutal and inhuman characters. He is committed to charitable causes and cares about young people in distress.

Tagawa 2007 debuted as a film producer with the action film Duel of Legends. In 2012 he can be seen in the web series " Mortal Kombat Legacy" again in the role of Shang Tsung.

He is married and has two children with his wife Sally, son Calen and daughter Brynne.
