Caryophyllia inornata

The Caryophylliidae are a family of stony corals. Among the approximately 300 species in addition to tropical, großpolypigen stony corals are also living in temperate seas into great depth cold-water corals of the genera Lophelia. The previously asked in the family subfamily Euphylliinae was charged by Veron to the rank of a family. The coral colonies often consist of only a few polyps.
