Casal Humberti

Casal Imbert (also Casale Huberti de Paci, Casale Lamberti, Latin: Castellum Ziph, Arabic: al- Zib ( الزيب )) is the ruins of a Crusader castle in Achziv, in what is now Israel.

The castle is located on the Mediterranean coast, about 15 km north of Acre. It was built around 1123 by the Crusaders of the Kingdom of Jerusalem to secure Acre against the then Saracen Tyre. After Tyrus had already conquered in 1124, lost the castle of its importance.

Beginning of the 13th century the castle came into the possession of the Teutonic Order. In May 1232 here the troops of the imperial governor Richard Filangieri won a victory against the rebellious barons under John of Ibelin (see Lombard war ).
