Casey McGehee

Casey Michael McGehee ( born October 12, 1982 at Santa Cruz County, California) is an American professional baseball player in Major League Baseball. He currently plays for the New York Yankees on the position of the third baseman. Previously, he played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Life

McGehee graduated from Soquel High School in Soquel, California, and then went to the Fresno State University.

Baseball career

Chicago Cubs

McGehee was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2003 and played his first game in Major League on September 2, 2008.

Milwaukee Brewers

2009

On 31 March 2009 it was announced that McGehee was committed by the Milwaukee Brewers. Due to various injuries of the infield players McGehee first came on third base and in the course of the season on the second base position for use. Due to several weaker games of his teammates, he was regularly used at third base. On 14 June 2009, he scored his first home run. Only a short time later, on 29 June 2009, he hit the first grand slam of his career. On July 4, in the game against the Chicago Cubs he achieved his best performance so far. 2010

McGehee was voted Most Valuable Player of the Brewers. He sat down against the base Secon man Rickie Weeks and outfielder Corey Hart through. He managed a batting average of .285 and he hit 23 homers and led his team with 104 RBIs in 157 games. On August 12, he set a team record for consecutive hits. It get him nine hits in two games against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

2011

In 2011, his batting average was .223 and get him on the one hand 13 home runs, three of them on August 3 against the pitcher Edwin Jackson of the St. Louis Cardinals, on the other hand he was also the third base man with the most errors, namely 20, throughout the NL.

Pittsburgh Pirates

On December 12, 2011 committed the Milwaukee Brewers Aramis Ramirez and exchanged shortly thereafter McGehee for Veras José and McGehee played from now on for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
