Cashcow

As a cash cow (English cash cow, Geldkuh ), cash cow or cash cow is generally referred to a product with which a company has a high market dominance and generates high profits.

In business administration, it designates a field within the BCG matrix, in which products are on the market in terms of sales leads and discard ( in terms of volume, stable to declining market ) high, stable and predictable earnings. Such products are referred to as self-perpetuating. In the BCG matrix, a standard strategy is linked to it.

After the supplementary model of the product life cycle investment is transforming into such products away from advertising and development investments towards rationalization in production and diversification.
