Casino Canberra

Casino Canberra is a casino in the center of the Australian capital Canberra. At its present location, the casino was opened on 29 July 1994. But since 1992 there was already a temporary casino in the National Exhibition Centre. Casino Canberra has the exclusive license to operate table, card and dice gambling throughout the Australian Capital Territory. However, the casino shall not take slot machines; this right is available only to clubs in the city. The company has repeatedly tried to persuade the government to allow the casino slot machines. This has, however, been prevented by the resistance of the other representatives of the gaming industry, because they fear loss of income. The casino is operated by Casinos Austria.
