Castritian

Castricianus (also: Castritianus ) (? † 137 in Milan ) is, according to tradition an early bishop of Milan. In the list of bishops he follows Barnabas, Anathalon and Gaius, but there is no safe time for early evidence of any owner of a bishop's office, so that this information is not verifiable and rather legendary. The Castricianus is a term of 42 years attributed to have lasted until about the end of the reign of Emperor Hadrian. If Castricianus ' successor has been Calimerus however, his term would have to be recognized much later, because for Calimerus a death year is assumed to 280.

Castricianus is venerated as a saint. His feast day is December 1.
