Catarina Wallenstein

Catarina de Lemos Wallenstein Teixeira ( born August 23, 1986 in London, England) is a Portuguese actress.

Life

Catarina Wallenstein is the daughter of Pedro Wallenstein, a Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa double bass player, and the opera singer Lúcia Lemos. Her uncle is the actor José Wallenstein and her grandfather the actor Carlos Wallenstein. She was trained in singing and cello. Already in her youth, she performed at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos. She attended the Lycée Français Charles Lepierre with a French school and then studied both at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema and at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique spectacle.

In the German-speaking public Wallenstein was known primarily for her performances in the two feature films The day that changed everything and idiosyncrasies of a young blonde. They were each nominated for best actress for the Portuguese media award Globo de Ouro 2009 and 2010, where she received an award in 2010 for her performances in A Vida Privada de Salazar, peculiarities of a young blonde and around Amor de Perdição.
