Catch 22 (Band)

Catch 22 (Eng. " dilemma ") is a ska -punk band that was founded in 1996 in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Tomas Kalnoky and Chris Greer, who had already played in the band Gimp together, formed the band along with trumpeter Kevin Gunther.

Band History

In 1997, Catch 22 on her demo tape called Rules of the Game and were taken after some time from the label Victory Records. There she published in 1998 her debut album Keasbey Nights, which proved popular with fans of the genre and was soon traded as a milestone of the ska-punk.

Josh Ansley, Jamie Egan and songwriter Tomas Kalnoky left the band despite the success. They were replaced by Pat Calpin (guitar), Mike Soprano ( trombone), Pat " Mingus " Keys (bass) and Jeff Davidson (vocals ). The songs were henceforth written mainly by Davidson and Eldred. Published in 2000 their second album Catch 22 Alone in a Crowd. It was followed by the EPs Washed Up and Washed Up and through the ringer.

2001, vocalist Jeff Davidson the band. Trombonist Mike Soprano was replaced by Ian McKenzie, who came from the band Edna's Goldfish. The vocals now took saxophonist Ryan Eldred and trumpeter Kevin Gunter. Published in 2003 Catch 22 Dinosaur Sounds with their sixth album.

The former members of Catch 22 Tomas Kalnoky and Jamie Egan founded in early 2003 the band Streetlight Manifesto, which released their first album Everything Goes Numb at the end of the same year.

Streetlight Manifesto published in 2006 a re-recording of Catch-22 album Keasbey Nights, the origin of the album except for some solos resembled while the recording quality has improved tremendously.

Catch 22, however, presented in 2006 the album Permanent Revolution, on the dedicated to all 11 songs the life and work of the Russian revolutionary and Marxist theorist Leon Trotsky.
