Catherine Hardwicke

Helen Catherine Hardwicke ( born October 21, 1955 in McAllen, Texas) is an American production designer, film director and screenwriter.

Biography

About Hardwicke's birthplace, there are two pieces of information. Some sources call Cameron ( Texas), however the majority of information relates to McAllen on the border with Mexico in south Texas. The daughter of John Benjamin Hardwicke and Jamee Elberta Bennett studied art in Mexico and received her degree in architecture at the University of Texas at Austin. Her biggest ever completed projects include a 20 -acre, powered by solar technology townhouse complex.

In the 1980s, however, she decided to get a foothold in the film industry and attended the University of California, Los Angeles. From 1986, she worked as a production designer, first in independent films, and later at known projects. Three Kings of 1999 and Vanilla Sky from 2001 are among the best known. 2003 Hardwicke debuted with the film drama Thirteen as a director, for which they also, along with Nikki Reed, wrote the screenplay.

Their fourth project as a director, the film adaptation of the international best-selling novel bis ( s ) dawn by Stephenie Meyer, who came to the U.S. in November 2008 in the cinemas, was an international success. The film stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
