The Catholic University of Eastern Africa ( en.: Catholic University of Eastern Africa ( CUEA ) ) is a Catholic university with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.

The college was founded in 1984 in Nairobi as The Catholic Higher Institute of Eastern Africa ( CHIEA ) by the Association of Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa ( Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa ( AMECEA ) ) and recognized by the Congregation for Catholic Education. On 3 September 1984, the official founding was made by the Chairman of AMECEA, Madaldo Mazombwe. Pope John Paul II opened the university in person on 18 August 1985. On 3 November 1992, the college received university status.

The CUEA are the Hekima College in Nairobi, Tangaza College in Langata / Nairobi and the Marist International College in Karen / Nairobi assigned directly affiliated with the Don Bosco College in Moshi, the Christ the King Major Seminary in Nyeri, the Spiritan Seminary in Arusha / Tanzania, the AMECEA pastoral Institute in Eldoret and the Chemichemi ya Uzima Centre in Nairobi. Associated is the company Ukweli Video Production in Nairobi.

The university offers bachelor's and master's degrees and doctoral study programs.
