Causey is a place in Roosevelt County in the U.S. state of New Mexico in the United States with 52 inhabitants ( 2000).

Geography

The place is located in the southeast of the county in southeast New Mexico, is in the east, around 2 kilometers from Texas and has a total area of 8.0 km ² without significant water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 52 people in 19 households, and 17 families. The population density was 6.5 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 76.92 % White, 9.62 % Native American, 13.46 % from other ethnic groups.

Of the 19 households out of which 21.10% have children under the age of 18 living with them. 78.90 % were married couples living together, 5.30% had a female householder with no husband, and 10.50% were non-families, 10.50 % of all households are made up and in 5.30% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.74 and the average family size was 2.94.

In relation to the entire town the population was spread out with 25.00 % under the age of 18, 5.80 % from 18 to 24, 19.20 % from 25 to 44 years, 21.20 % between 45 and 64 years and 28.80% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 46 years. For every 100 females there were 108 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.7 men statistically.

The median income for a household was $ 37,083, and the median income for a family was $ 37,083. Males have a median income of $ 21,250, women $ 23,333. The per capita income was $ 19,663. No one was living below the poverty line.
