Caves of Barać

The Barac Caves (Croatian: Baraćeve špilje ) are approximately 6 kilometers east of the town of Rakovica, near the village of Nova Kršlja.

The caves are divided into several parts, the lower, the upper and the third Barac's Cave ( Croatian: Donja Baraćeva Špilja, Gornja Baraćeva Špilja, Nova Baraćeva Špilja ). The Otvaranje Špilja is also attributed to this cave system. Access to the caves is located on the north side of the mountain Barac 's Brina.

1892, the caves were made available for visitors, but fell in 1920 into oblivion. Since 2004, the first 200 m of the 520 m long upper cave on a guided tour can be visited again.

Nearby is the Suvaja flows past the shortly thereafter in a sip hole completely disappears, to reappear 200 meters further in a karst spring.
