CBS Summer Playhouse

CBS Summer Playhouse is an American television series. In the program selected pilot episodes not previously acquired as a series at CBS were shown. It started on June 12, 1987, CBS and aired until August 22, 1989 he spent the summer months (June to September). Overall, it consists of 46 episode films, which are divided into three seasons.

Concept

During the first season of the show Tim and Daphne Maxwell Reid was moderated. The two have imagined at the beginning of the episode, the respective pilot episode and the viewers could vote at the end with a freephone number on it. The pilot episode, which it received enough votes should be still continued to be produced as a series. However, this failed to reach the episodes shown.

For the second and third season of the show was revised and contained from then on no moderation and no more voting.

Content

The pilot sequences shown in the show include The Saint in Manhattan ( a continuation of Simon Templar with Andrew Clarke as Simon Templar ) Kung Fu: The Next Generation ( a remake of Kung Fu with Brandon Lee in the lead role ) Puppetman (a new Muppet Show by Jim Henson ) and a comedy version of Coming to America.
