Cecilia Gasdia

Cecilia Gasdia ( born August 14, 1960 in Verona) is an Italian soprano.

Life

Gasdia studied in Verona in 1981 and won the first prize at Maria Callas Competition of the RAI. In 1981 she made ​​her debut in Florence as Giulietta in Bellini's I Capuleti ed I Montecchi, 1982 at La Scala as Lucrezia Borgia ( Donizetti ) and at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples as Amina in Bellini's La Sonnambula.

She has appeared in all the major Italian opera houses, at the Arena of Verona, at the Rossini Festival Pesaro, at the Opéra de Paris, the Vienna State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera New York, the opera houses of Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, Zurich, Munich and at the Liceu in Barcelona.

When her signature role Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata applies.
