Cecrops

Cecrops (. Κέκροψ of ancient Greek ancient Greek κέρκοψ kerkops " the tailed ", lat Cecrops ) In Greek mythology, the name of two kings of Attica:

• Cecrops I of Attica is the better known of the two.
• Cecrops II of Attica, son of Erechtheus

After one of the two - probably after the first named - was named one of the ten tribes of Athens Kekropis.
