Cedar Bluff is a town in Cherokee County, Alabama, United States. In 2000, the city had 1467 inhabitants. Unlike the rest of the county, the sale of alcohol is permitted in Cedar Bluff. The town has a total area of 10.7 km ², of which 0.4 km ² water surface.

History

Cedar Bluff was founded at the intersection of roads to Livingston and Centre. East of Cedar Bluff was in the Civil War rather than a battle in which the Confederate Nathan Bedforst Forest with his army defeated by Abel Streight. From 1837-1844 Cedar Bluff was the county seat of administration ( County Seat).

Demography

According to the census of 2000 had the Cedar Bluff 1467 inhabitants, distributed among 830 households and 444 families. The population density was thus 94.8 inhabitants / km ². 87.18 % of the population were white, 11.38% African American. In 29.7 % of households were living children under 18 years. The average income per household was $ 29,211, with 21.1 % of the population were below the poverty line.
