Céline Lebrun

Céline Lebrun ( born August 25, 1976 in Paris ) is a French judoka. She took second place in 2000 at the Olympics in the weight category to 78 kg in 2001 and 1999 third at the World Championships. She was also at the 2001 World Championships in Munich World Champion in the Open Class. She was four times European Champion.

At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 it was equally as fifth in the World Cup 2003.

The 1.69 m great fighter came up with 10 years of judo and trained at the U.S. Orleans in Orleans. Their defeat by the Chinese Tang Lin in the final of the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 was highly controversial. The final points went to a draw, with Tang Lin points out minor penalties for Lebun emerged. The judges decided after overall impression 2-1 votes for the Chinese, the audience booed in the decision. Lebrun himself threw the judges incompetence, said she had been robbed and refused to go to the finals for the press conference.

In January 2011, she announced her retirement from competitive sports; Lebrun was adopted at the Grand Slam tournament in Paris on February 5th and 6th, 2011.
