Celles-sur-Belle

Celles- sur -Belle is a commune with 3744 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Deux -Sèvres in the Poitou -Charentes; it belongs to the administrative district in the canton of Niort and Celles- sur- Belle, whose capital it is.

Geography

The community is located about 150 kilometers south-east of Nantes and 55 kilometers southwest of Poitiers.

• Beaussais - Vitre in the Northeast,
• Melle and Saint -Martin- lès -Melle in the east,
• Saint-Romans -les -Melle in the southeast,
• Périgné in the south,
• Saint- Médard in the southwest,

• Thorigné in the northwest.

The place is located in the far north of the municipal territory is crossed by the River Belle. Further south are also situated on the river, the places Verrines sous Celle and Montigné were the independent communities until 1972.

The place is situated on the D948 road department, which leads coming from Melle to Niort, but is bypassed in the south.
