Celso Morga Iruzubieta

Celso Morga Iruzubieta ( born January 28, 1948 in Huércanos, La Rioja, Spain ) is a Curia, Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Celso Morga Iruzubieta received on 24 June 1972, the sacrament of Holy Orders and was incardinated in the clergy of the diocese of Calahorra y La Calzada - Logroño.

Morga Iruzubieta received his doctorate at the University of Navarra in Canon Law. Subsequently, he was a pastor and Offizial in the diocese of Calahorra y La Calzada - Logroño. Then Celso Morga Iruzubieta was prosecuted ex officio in the Archdiocese of Córdoba in Argentina and professor of canon law at the seminary of the Archdiocese of Córdoba for four years. In 1987 he became a member of the Congregation for the Clergy, where in 2000 he was bureau chief. On January 25, 1993, he Pope John Paul II conferred the honorary title of Chaplain of His Holiness ( Monsignor ) on 30 March 2004 and the title of Honorary Prelate of His Holiness. Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 10 November 2009 for undersecretary of the Congregation for the Clergy.

On 29 December 2010 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. Titular Archbishop of Alba Maritima and Secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy. He received his episcopal consecration Benedict XVI. on 5 February 2011 at St. Peter's Basilica; Co-consecrators were Cardinal Dean Angelo Sodano and Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone SDB. On September 21, 2013, Pope Francis confirmed in the post of Secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy.
