Celso Yegros Estigarribia

Celso Yegros Estigarribia ( born July 11, 1935 in Itauguá, † April 6, 2013 in Asunción ) was Bishop of Carapeguá.

Life

Celso Yegros Estigarribia studied philosophy and theology at the major seminary in Cordoba, Argentina, and received on 18 December 1960 in the Cathedral of Asunción ordained priest by the Archbishop of Asunción, Juan José Aníbal Mena Porta. He was parish priest of San Lorenzo and the cathedral of Asuncion. After another pastoral activities in the archdiocese, he was from 1971 to 1975 in the leadership team of the Major Seminary of Paraguay active, then director of the Office for Catechesis and 1973-1985 Professor and Head of the Institute Monsignor Bogarin. He was Secretary General of the Episcopal Conference CEP.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on April 6, 1983, Bishop of Carapeguá. The Archbishop of Asunción, Ismael Blas Rolón Silvero SDB, gave him on 29 May of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the bishops Jorge Adolfo Carlos Livieres Banks, Auxiliary Bishop of Asunción, and Carlos Villalba Milcíades Aquino, Bishop of San Juan Bautista de las Misiones.
