Center of Jewish Studies Shanghai

The Center for Jewish Studies Shanghai (上海 犹太 研究 中心Chinese, English Center for Jewish Studies Shanghai ( CJSS ) ) is an institute of the Academy of Social Sciences Shanghai.

Research

The main research areas of the Institute are the history of the " Shanghai Jews " ( who fled to Shanghai during the Holocaust Jews ), Jewish communities in China (the largest are located in Tianjin, Harbin and Kaifeng ) and Political Studies of the Middle East. Under the leadership of Professor Pan Guang it has become the leading academic institution in China, which deals with Jewish and Israeli issues.

Since 2006, may be served on the Association of Austrian foreign service in the center of a memorial service.

International

The Centre has organized several national and international scientific conferences, as well as so -called Rickshaw Reunions ( reunion of refugees who survived the Holocaust in Shanghai). Celebrity visit had the Centre, among others, Yitzhak Rabin, Ehud Olmert, Gerhard Schröder, Ariel Sharon, Hillary Clinton and Thomas Klestil.
