Center of New Industries and Technologies

The CNIT ( Centre des Nouvelles Industries et Technologies - Centre of New Industries and Technologies ), is one of the oldest buildings in the Paris suburb Puteax. It is located at the central location of the La Défense business district, directly opposite the Grande Arche and the shopping center Les Quatre Temps.

Architectural History

It was built in the years 1956 until 1958. The architects were Robert Edouard Camelot, Jean de Mailly and Bernard Louis Zehrfuss. The work on the metal facades were carried out under the supervision of the engineer Jean Prouvé.

In 1988, the usable area was expanded to 22,500 sqm by the building was gutted and redesigned.

Use

Today it serves as the CNIT convention center. In addition there are numerous shops and a hotel.
