Centraal Museum

The Centraal Museum Utrecht is a 1838 founded Art Museum in Utrecht (Netherlands).

It is the oldest museum in the Netherlands. The museum's collection includes a wide spectrum of art: Old Master, Modern & Contemporary Art, Design, Fashion and local history museum.

The museum is housed in a former medieval monastery, parts of the building once served temporarily as an orphanage, military stable and psychiatry.

In 1999, the Museum of the architect Stéphane Beel, Lieven Achtergael and Peter Versseput was renovated.

In addition to the main building to the Museum and the opposite dick bruna huis include ( the illustrator Dick Bruna and his characters dedicated, especially for children) and the opposite in another district of Utrecht Rietveld Schröder House.
