Central Arizona Project

As Central Arizona Project ( CAP) is the planning and construction of a 541 km long water channel, the longest and most expensive in the history of the United States, referred to in the U.S. state of Arizona.

The construction of the CAP goes back to the Colorado River Basin Project Act, which was signed by then U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968. The construction of the aqueduct, which supplies the central and southern Arizona by the Colorado River with water, started in 1973, 1994, the structure was declared complete. Particular contribution to the realization of the project had the former politician from Arizona, Senator Carl Hayden, Senator Barry Goldwater, as well as the brothers Mo Udall and Stewart Lee Udall. They all described the project as one of the main projects of the state and in the history of Arizona, as well as their careers.
