The Centre Sèvres, also Centre Sèvres- Facultés Jésuites de Paris, is a Jesuit private university in Paris.

History

The university with the disciplines of theology and philosophy was founded in 1974 by the Zusammlegung the Faculty of Theology in Lyon - Fourvière and the Faculty of Arts in Chantilly. It was named after the seat on the Rue de Sèvres in Paris, next to the Church of St. Ignatius ( Église Saint -Ignace de Paris). Carrier is the Jesuit Province of the Order in France.

According to the written by Pope John Paul II, Apostolic Constitution Sapientia Christiana "On the ecclesiastical universities and faculties " of 15 April 1979, the regulations of the Congregation for Catholic Education on 18 June 1986 was the papal recognition.

At the University of exclusively members of the Jesuit order were originally trained, but now can also be other members of the Order and the laity enroll for the licentiate, master's and doctoral degree programs.
