System

Currently, four subspecies are distinguished, each of which has several synonyms in part:

  • Ceropegia linearis subsp. linearis E.Mey. (including Ceropegia caffrorum Schltr. , Ceropegia caffrorum dubia var NEBr. )
  • Ceropegia linearis subsp. debilis ( NEBr. ) H.Huber ( syn. Ceropegia debilis )
  • Ceropegia linearis subsp. tenuis ( N.E.Br. ) Bruyns ( syn. Ceropegia tenuis )
  • Ceropegia linearis subsp. woodii (poor ) H.Huber ( syn. Ceropegia woodii, including Ceropegia euryacme Schltr, Ceropegia leptocarpa Schltr, Ceropegia barbetonensis NEBr, Ceropegia hastata NEBr, Ceropegia beautiful landi NEBr, Ceropegia corallicorona Werderm. .. .. . ). In many popular science books and on websites it is still treated as a separate species.
