Cerro Capurata

The Capurata is a 6039 m high stratovolcano on the border between western Bolivia and northern Chile. He, together with the two volcanoes Humarata and Acotango the Quimsachata volcano group. Quimsachata means " three " in the Andean Aymara language. The Capurata is the southeasternmost of the three stratovolcanoes.

On maps, the peak height of the Capurata is not provided with 5.990 m, a GPS measurement of an expedition of climbers Porfirio Chura, Thomas Wilken and Holger Eltgen April 20, 2010 has revealed the newly calculated maximum value of 6.039 m for the south-easternmost of the three apexes.
