Cesare Andrea Bixio

Cesare Andrea Bixio (* October 11, 1896 in Naples; † 5 March 1978 in Rome) was an Italian composer.

Bixio wrote about 150 film scores and 500 popular Italian songs.

The German version of the Mama originally written in 1938 by Bixio for Beniamino Gigli Italian song Mamma became famous was made by the 1967 plate holder and the resulting popularity of Dutch children Stares Heintje. The single stayed 54 weeks in 1968 in the German charts. International fame was the song by the interpretation of the Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti.
