The Chamberlain River is a river in the northeast of the Australian state of Western Australia. It is located in the Kimberley region.
Geography
The river rises east of Yulumbu north of the eastern part of the King Leopold Ranges and flows in a northeasterly direction along the Durack Ranges. To the north of these mountains it flows in the El Questro Station in the Pentecost River.
Origin of the name
The river was named in 1901 by surveyor Frederick Brockman. It is believed that he was named either after the shipbuilder William Chamberlain or the politician Joseph Chamberlain.
