Champagne socialist

Tuscany Group is a buzzword of the political culture in Germany and Austria. It is often used, especially in the press to a group of politicians and intellectuals of the Left of the political spectrum, preferably spend their holidays in Tuscany.

The Tuscany Group in this case represents (such as the conservative Andean Pact ) no roped in the true sense. The usually pejorative term used is rather coined a the Tuscany Fraktionären supposedly common philosophy of life: the erstwhile rebels of the '68 movement had therefore, exhausted from the " march through the institutions ", has become the age to thoroughly bourgeois man of pleasure, which is reflected in their preference manifest for Italian delicacies. Analog terms

The Swiss counterpart to Tuscany Group are the " glass of champagne socialists ", to which, for example, Federal Councillor Moritz Leuenberger or the Berne Mayor Alexander Tschäppät be counted ( Cüpli = a glass of champagne ). Analog used in the English-speaking socialist champagne and caviar gauche in France. Sometimes, a person who got into the theories of Bolshevism, but in practice they only represent if they do not thereby be without personal benefits, referred to ironically as " parlor Bolshevik ".
