The Champasak Palace is a magnificent building in the city südlaotischen Pakse, which is now used as a hotel.

The architecturally unusual palace lies on the northern edge of the city on the banks of the river near the Russian Xedon Bridge and Wat Tham Fai ( Wat Phabat ) and represents the largest building Pakses dar.

The building was constructed in 1968 on behalf of Boun Oum, the last prince of the Kingdom of Champasak and resolved Laotian Prime Minister from 1960 to 1962, the French- colonial Southeast Asia. Prince Boun Oum planned a residence with more than 1,000 rooms, but had to flee due to the takeover by the communist Pathet Lao 1974/75 to France, where he died some years later before completion of the building. The palace was mostly completed state property and of the ruling Lao People's Revolutionary Party to be occasionally used for state and party events.

In the 1990s, the building was sold to a Thai tourism company, which was finishing the palace finally, at the same time extensive remodeling and renovations, including the installation of an external glass elevator carried out, and finally opened the Champasak Palace Hotel.
