Championnat International de Jeux Mathématiques et Logiques

The International Mathematics and logic game championships are carried out annually since 1986 math and logic competition.

History

The result is the competition in France, because traditionally take part especially puzzles friends from the Francophone world. In German-speaking Switzerland, the precipitates have been conducted since the 22nd edition (2007/ 08).

Participant

The competition is aimed at a wide audience and will be held in eight different categories. Six of them are students and student categories; Adults can participate in the categories of Grand Public ( simpler level) or Haute Compétition (highest level). The measures for the solution of the tasks are mostly elementary concepts; demand is not high mathematical science but logical thinking.

Expiration

The implementation is carried out in four stages. The elimination phase and the quarter-finals will be held in two modalities. Students participate in their school. For students, adults and students from schools that do not participate, another task series is published, which can be solved individually and sent. The semi-finals will be conducted for the eligible participants in March at various local centers. In German-speaking Switzerland it takes place at the ETH Zurich. Then the regional finals to follow in May. The Swiss finals will be held in Lausanne. The best participants of all countries can toss for the win in each category in the summer in the international final.

Local organizer of the competition in Switzerland for the regional phases is the Swiss Mathematics Games Association ( SMASV ) (French: Fédération Suisse des Jeux Mathématiques [ FSJM ] ). The international final in Paris organized by the Comité International des Jeux Mathématique ( CIJM ).
