Chanda Kochhar

Chanda Kochhar ( born November 17, 1961 in Jodhpur ) is an Indian Manager and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Bank.

Life

Chanda Kochhar was born as the daughter of an engineer. Her parents were originally from Karachi and were there for the Hindu minority. Her parents therefore had to flee from Karachi and having lost their possessions. The parents placed a significant emphasis on academic education.

Chanda Kochhar studied at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management in Mumbai and at the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India and received this twice the academic degree of Bachelor, the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute as valedictorian. She was then in 1982 a trainee position at ICICI offered. She fell there of the ICICI Bank KV Kamath who later became CEO for their initiative on which they promoted then. You went through at the bank gradually held numerous leadership positions in the business areas of ICICI. On 1 May 2009, she was the successor of KV Kamath CEO of the bank. She took over the leadership of the Bank at a time when the global financial crisis also affected the bank. She leaned publicly the demand of the Indian central bank President D. Subbarao from, to boost the Indian economy, the credit volume to expand by 20% and argued instead for a cautious increase.
