Changhua City

Changhua (Chinese彰化市, Pinyin Zhanghua Shì, Tongyong Pinyin Jhanghuà Shih, W.-G. Chang -hua Shih, PEH oē - jī Chiong - HOA chhi ) is a city with about 237,000 inhabitants in western Taiwan, Republic of China. It is the capital of Changhua County.

Location

Changhua lies on the northwestern foot of running in a north-south direction Bagua hills. To the west and southwest of the city extends reaching up to about 15 km away Formosastraße Changhua level. The northeastern city border is the Dadu River.

History

Changhua long stood in the shadow of the western port city Lukang, which belonged to the early 20th century, the largest and most important cities of Taiwan.
