Chantal Biya

Chantal Biya (born 1971 in Cameroon as Chantal Vigouroux ) is since 23 April 1994, the wife of Paul Biya, the second President of Cameroon. She is known for her extravagant hairstyles and her luxurious clothing style, which is why they " la Lionne du Cameroun " ( the lioness from Cameroon ) is also called.

Childhood and studies

Chantal Vigouroux is the daughter of Rosette Ndongo Mengolo and Georges Vigouroux. She was born in Cameroon Region East Dimako, and spent her youth in Yaoundé.

Life

In November 2010, Bertrand Teyou a book titled La belle de la république bananière: Chantal Biya, de la rue au palais ( The Beauty of the banana republic: Chantal Biya, from the streets to the palace ), in which he Chantal's ascent from simple ratios tells the first lady. Teyou was subsequently arrested. Amnesty International and P.E.N. protested the arrest. Amnesty International called Teyou as prisoner of conscience.
