Charles A. Holt

Charles A. Holt ( born October 2, 1948 in Richmond ( Virginia)) is an American economist, in particular behavioral economist and university professor.

Life

After graduating from Washington and Lee University and Carnegie Mellon University, he attained to the latter the degree of Ph.D. From 1976 to 1981 he was assistant professor at the University of Minnesota, 1982-1983 Associate Professor there. In 1983 he moved to the University of Virginia. There he was to 1989 Associate Professor, 1989-1996 Professor of Economics.

From 1996 to 2002 Holt had the H. Merrill Bankard Professor, since 2003 held the A. Willis Robertson Professor of Political Economy at the University of Virginia. Since 2003, he is also an honorary professor at the University of Amsterdam.
