Charles Fouqueray

Charles Fouqueray, actually Charles Dominique Fouqueray, ( born April 23, 1869 in Le Mans, Sarthe, † March 28, 1956 ) was a French painter.

Life

Fouqeray came from an old family officer; his father was a naval officer. He received his artistic training at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, including by Alexandre Cabanel and Fernand Cormon. Supported and encouraged by his teachers, he was able to participate in 1888 at the Salon des artistes français successfully.

1908 appointed one Fouqueray to Peintre Officiel de la Marine ( Official Painter of the Navy ).
