Charles Graux

Charles Alexandre Louis Greyx ( born January 4, 1837 in Brussels, † 22 January 1910 at Ixelles / Elsene ) was a Belgian liberal politician and university teacher.

Biography

After school he studied law and was after his doctorate in law, first as a lawyer and later as a professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Greyx was also also a co-founder of the newspaper La Liberté and Ligue de l' Enseignement and publisher of La Discussion.

His political career began as representatives of the Liberal Chamber of Deputies. In June 1878 he was appointed by Prime Minister Walthère Frère- Orban as Finance Minister in the Cabinet and was this for six years until the end of Frère- Orban's office in June 1884.

For his political achievements, he was awarded on May 7, 1900, the honorary title of Minister of State.
